GIP – Doug Swanson
With great sadness, we learned today that Doug Swanson has passed on, unexpectedly, to the great golf course in the sky.
Doug was a fixture in the DoIT Golf League since joining in 2014 with his partner Bruce Olson. Doug and Bruce won the league championship that year.
As one of the lower handicap golfers, Doug was always very generous with advice and tips, and he was willing to go to great lengths to win the mental game of golf. You can see above that he once pretended to be an Iowa fan to throw Steve Wilcox off his game. He would also very generously buy his opponents beers. 😉
The yearly Fun Night Scramble will be renamed in Doug’s honor as the Doug Swanson Memorial Scramble.
We will remember Doug as a great golfer, a great guy, and as the Iowa fan that he wasn’t.
